My Songs
By TVD
Daily Illini, 7 Jan 1926

As a boy I sang of drifting
As a youth the Gods above
Were not above my futile verse;
But now I sing of love.

I sing of love and longing,
And of dreams that break my rest,
I like my songs of long ago -
But I like my new songs best.
