"How shall I know spring?"
Daily Maroon - Feb 28, 1929

How shall I know spring? ... coming
again this year.
Being dignified with the bearing of
many blue and fragile skies?
Or sobbing tenderly with ever
mournful eyes...
Fading pale the younger violets.
Or challenging the stars
With heathenish wind...
Catching the raindrops
Before they fall....
To race with, and madly ... dance.
