Mrs. Catherine Bell, editor of the Canon City Cannon and one of the brainiest women in the state, came up to Denver "to help save the Democracy, speaking generally," as she put it, "and particularly to aid in establishing beyond cavil, the rights and authority of the regular Democratic organization in Denver, to wit, the Davoren faction."
