Henry's Memory
A Mouse in Henry Livingston's House
Navigate

It's common for proponents of Moore's authorship to put Henry down as a farmer from Poughkeepsie, and to raise Moore up as a scholar. But it's clear that all the brains in the Livingston family weren't the sole property of Henry's brother, John Henry, who entered Yale College at the age of 12 and graduated at 16. (There are beautiful word pictures describing the young John Henry tutoring his fellow students while sitting on their laps!)

Henry's body might have been "down on the farm," but his mind was everywhere.
