And then there were the letters father had written mother begging her to come back.
They hadn't worked.
Unable to live life with an alcoholic, especially one larger than life, mother had taken her
children home to live with her parents, and tried to forget father.
Without mother as the governor on the speed at which he lived life, father burned out before
the age of fifty. I knew that he was a writer, but I had been unable to find any of his
work.
All I had were his letters. And they broke my heart.
Father told mother that he had burned his writing, and that the future could do without him.
He might have given up, but I wasn't that weak! I was determined that the future and his daughter were NOT
going to do without him. But how to find his book of poetry?
