Pat Winston's Sandcake

1cupbutter
3cupssugar
6.eggs
1cupsour cream
3cupsflour
1/4teaspoonbaking powder
1 1/2teaspoonsvanilla
..powdered sugar

Cream butter and sugar.

Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well.

Blend in sour cream.

Sift flour, measure, sift again with baking powder.

Add flour mixture in 4 or 5 parts to first mixture, blending well each time.

Add vanilla.

Pour into well-greased 2 to 2 1/2 quart mold or 9" tube pan, and bake at 350 degrees for one hour, 25 min.

Before cutting, sprinkle with sifted powdered sugar.

This is the best cake, bar none, that I have ever had. Perfect flavor, perfect consistency.
