Texas Bluebonnets

bluebell

A bit of Heaven's blue come down
Spread in deep profusion on the ground,
Undulating
emptyIn the breeze
Sweeping tides 'neath soft green trees,
Spilling
emptydown the roadside banks
To please the eye and tease
The hungry, yearning heart
For Home - a promise fair
Of Heaven's peace
emptyand Love. So rare
And beautiful a sight
In our brief Spring
emptyspreading light
And fragrance.
In cloud or sun
Coaxing the soul to leap
emptyand run
In boundless joy, free.
Bright blue beauty, Heaven's smile
Spilled by the Artist's Hand
To delight you and me
emptyfor a little while.
