A bit of Heaven's blue come down Spread in deep profusion on the ground, Undulating In the breeze Sweeping tides 'neath soft green trees, Spilling down the roadside banks To please the eye and tease The hungry, yearning heart For Home - a promise fair Of Heaven's peace and Love. So rare And beautiful a sight In our brief Spring spreading light And fragrance. In cloud or sun Coaxing the soul to leap and run In boundless joy, free. Bright blue beauty, Heaven's smile Spilled by the Artist's Hand To delight you and me for a little while. (1978) |
