COWBOY'S DIVORCE SUIT
Husband of Lucille Mulhall, Stampede Performer
Starts Proceedings

Manitoba Free Press, 31 Mar 1914

Chicago, Ill., March 30.-
Martin Van Bergen, baritone, and formerly a cowboy, has filed suit in Johnson county, Kan., for a divorce from Lucille Mulhall (Van Bergen), charging desertion, and also naming Homer Wilson in other serious charges. Mr. Van Bergen asks for the custody of their son, William Logan Van Bergen, five years of age, living with his grandmother in Kansas.

The petition alleges that Miss Mulhall, who is the daughter of Zach Mulhall, of Mulhall, Okla., deserted thr defendant over a year ago and has since been traveling about the country with a wild west show in company with Wilson.

Lucille Mulhall was one of the most popular performers in the Stampede shown in Winnipeg last year. Her even roping and typing in the steer roping contests made her many admirers. She also won the world's championship women's bucking contest, defeating several remarkable horsewomen. Her fancy roping was also one of the features of the stampede.
