"Bossy" Mulhall, the world's woman champion horseback rider and roper of Mulhall, O.T., spent a half day in the city yesterday
en route to St. Louis and the guest of Roscoe Robertson, an employee of the Santa Fe passenger department, says the Wichita Eagle.
Miss Mulhall arrived in the city yesterday morning from her home accompanied by her $1,000 riding horse and her cow pony, which she used in roping and
tying steers. She will give two exhibitions of horse riding and of roping and tying a steer at the St. Louis horse show today.
Miss Mulhall's "Racehorse," as her riding horse is named, and her cow pony, were brought to this city by express and transferred
to the Frisco. The entire trip made by the horses will be in an express car. Bossy superintended personally the
unloading and loading of her horses here, although she had a colored boy to travel with the animals and see that each is well cared
for on the journey. When the horses were safely housed in the express car of a Frisco train and in readiness for the remainder of the
trip to St. Louis, "Bossy" said to the colored boy. "Now you get in that car and stay there until St. Louis reached, and don't let
anything happen to those horses."
Miss Mulhall's record for roping and tying a steer is 12 seconds. She expects to either tie or break her record in
an exhibition before the audience at the St. Louis horse show. "Bossy" visited nearly every place of interest
in Wichita during her stay here and appeared well pleased with the city. Before leaving, she said: "I like this place
and wish I could live here."
Miss Mulhall is the youngest daughter of Zach Mulhall, livestock agent for the Frisco railroad. She is but 19 years of age.
Lucille has just turned 18 on this date, with Agnes being 24. "Bossie" was the nickname for Agnes, not for Lucille.
