The Oklahoma Cowgirl is Reported in a Critical Condition

The Iola Daily Register, 9 Feb 1906

St. Louis, Feb. 9.-
Word was received today from Mulhall, Ok., that Miss Agnes Mulhall, daughter of Zach Mulhall, well known as a Wild West show man, and herself known as a "cowgirl" is in a critical condition at her father's home there. She is in a comatose state and her recovery is considered very doubtful. Miss Mulhall was injured several months ago when a horse reared and fell on her. At first her injuries were not considered dangerous.

Miss Mulhall is famous in the west for her skill as a horsewoman. She won the steer roping contest at the St. Louis world's fair. President Roosevelt has a gift from Miss Mulhall which he greatly prizes. It is the pelt of a wolf which teh young woman roped and killed. Miss Mulhall is the original of Bossie in Hoyt's "A Texas Steer."

Miss Mulhall's father, Zach Mulhall was sentenced to three years in prison for his share in a pistol duel on the Pike at the fair in which a bystander was shot. Mr. Mulhall appealed.

Oklahoma City, Feb. 9.-
The condition of Agnes Mulhall, the daughter of Zach Mulhall is somewhat improved today, although her condition is still critical.
