HER LIFE WAS IN DANGER
Miss Lucille Mulhall in Madison Square Garden Show
Nearly Trampled to Death by Her Horse

Topeka Daily Capital, 26 Apr 1905

New York, April 25.-
A crowd that jammed Madison Square garden to the doors saw Miss Lucille Mulhall of Oklahoma fall from her horse while attempting a difficult feat last night, and for a moment it seemed that nothing could save the girl from being trampled to death. Miss Mulhall, on her favorite horse, the Governor, while going at full speed, attempted to pick her hankerchief from the ground. For some unknown reason she missed the piece of lace, and in an instant, she was being rougly dragged by her horse, her head swaying close to the plunging hoffs of the animal. The young woman, by a quick push, threw herself outward and fell in a heap to one side, escaping with slight bruises.
