The Kansas City Times, 15 Oct 1909
After yesterday's judging had been finished the audience was given a little wild West show by Miss Mildred Mulhall and
Charles Mulhall. Miss Mulhall is 15 years of age and is a sister of Lucille Mulhall. There was an exhibition of
roping, and Charles Mulhall finished the act by riding a bucking broncho. This animal was so good at bucking that at
times it looked as though he were going to wreck the pavilion. He made a wild charge at the enclosure where the Battery
Band was dispensing the sort of music calculated to soothe the savage breast. No damage was done by the horse, but
when it was over Dame Rumor hasd it that the player of the bass drum tried to crawl into his instrument.
