TOOK MISS MULHALL'S DIAMOND
The Chanute Daily Tribune, 9 Apr 1908

St. Louis, April 9.-
After searching for her in the hotels and cafes a deputy sheriff late yesterday served a writ of replevin for the return of a diamond on Miss Lucille Mulhall, the young horse-woman. The writ was issued in the morning at the request of Price M. Taylor, former passenger agent for the Southern railroad. Mr. Taylor told the judge who issued the writ that he was afraid he would lose the ring unless he secured it at once since he heard that Miss Mulhall was engaged to be married to a rival.

The deputy sheriff found Miss Mulhall in the office of a physician and waited until she came out before performing his duty.

Miss Mulhall is 20 years old and daughter of Colonel Zack Mulhall of the 101 ranch in Oklahoma. Her feats in broncho busting and skill with the lariat have attracted much attention.

Both President Roosevelt and his daughter, Mrs. Nicholas Longworth, often visited at the ranch, and Miss Mulhall was also a guest at the White house.
