WILL GET WORD TONIGHT
Mulhalls Have Open Date During Fair Week Here
And It is Practically Certain THat Will Be Secured
A Good Drawing Card
Otto Fischer, who has charge of the shows concessions for the county fair, wired the management of the
Mulhall's cattle roping and broncho busting show, at Higginsville, Mo., last night, making them a proposition to come
to Lawrence during fair week.
Lon Poff got word in Kansas City Sunday that the Mulhalls had an open week on the dates scheduled for the Douglas County fair,
and after a hurried consultation yesterday, the directors decided to make an effort to bring them to Lawrence.
The Mulhalls have one of the best attractions on the road and if they are secured, it means the making of the fair, for their show
will draw crowds for miles. They have just closed a week's engagement at Independence, where Miss Lucille Mulhall, the champion lady
rider of the world, was severely injured. Her sister is doing her stunts now, but it is thought that Miss Lucille herself will be
back at work when the shows come here.
The Fair association has offered Mulhall a fancy price for a week's engagement here and it is practically certain that the big
show will be landed.
