The Wharton Train Robbers
Arkansas City Daily Traveler, 15 Sep 1892

On Tuesday a deputy marshal made his appearance at Zack Mulhall's ranch near Wharton, and induced four of his cowboys to accompany him to Guthrie as witnesses against the train robbers. The names of the men are Arch Elliott, G. Graham, Pink Clutter and C. V. English.

When they arrived at Guthrie Deputy Marshal Madsen arrested all four on suspicion of being implicated in the affair. Zack Mulhall and A. W. Wilder went on their bond.

A gentleman who came up from Guthrie this morning reported that their examination failed to produce any evidence against them and they were dismissed. All the men in charge of the train that was held up were present as witnesses, besides several other parties who saw the cowboys during the day.

The report of Zack Mulhall's arrest was entirely false.
