Crops a little dry; Gov. Steele a good choice
Arkansas City Daily Traveler, 18 Jul 1890

Zack Mulhall says crops in Oklahoma are all right, even if it is a little dry. The truth is, there was not a great deal of planting done, the sellers waiting for this and that and the other. Governor Steele! He is giving the very best of satisfaction. A better man couldn't have been named for the place. His appointments have given satisfaction and he is very much liked.
